Since forming in 2002, the team of DRS engineers have worked with many leading artists including Bon Jovi, Charlotte Church, U2 and Rod Stewart. We are able to offer bands a variety of live recording solutions ranging from recording a stereo feed directly of the front of house mixing desk through to providing mics and lines for a 48 channel recording.
The two options facing bands is whether they wish to provide the feeds from the mixing desk using the built in direct outs or whether they wish DRS to bring all the appropriate microphones, cabling, mixing desks and/or splitters and do the recording and live sound independently. All of our recordings are made digitally on upto 48-channel hard disk recorders.
In response to customer demand, we now even have a package that just entails the recording of the show and presentation of .wav audio files which allows the band to either mix the recording themselves or take the files to their regular studio or producer. These files can be imported in to most popular DAW software packages including, Logic, Pro-Tools, Cubase & Cakewalk. Live recording not only offers bands a great way of capturing their 'real' sound, but is also a very cost-effective way of producing an album ready for sale once they have been mixed and mastered.
The vast majority of our packages for bands include the mixing and mastering of the recordings, so in effect, a one stop album project.
