DRS now have a reputation as being the UK's premier location recording company. Over the past four years we have recorded countless live concerts for the likes of BBC Radio 3, The CBSO, The National Association of Youth Orchestra, The International Trombone Association and many other leading ensembles.
Our live concert recordings are a great opportunity to capture the atmosphere and ambience that only live performances can bring to a piece of music. For amatuer and semi-professional ensembles, live recordings are a highly cost effective way of carrying out fundraising by selling the recordings on CD after the event.
Our engineers can provide anything from a stereo pair recording, to a 24 channel multi-mic operation. In the vast, vast majority of situations, a stereo recording is the best option as it provides excellent quality with minimal editing and next to no intrusion upon the ensemble or stage. To hear an example of a stereo recording, please visit our demo page. Because of the limited editing required, this is a highly cost effective option for recording concerts.
The second most popular option for recording live events is the hire of one of our six track systems. This gives you four additional spot mics which are ideal if you have soloists, piano or certain sections of your ensemble often get lost in the dynamic. The recordings can be taken away and mixed prior to being sent to you for approval before mastering.
